Spring 2018 Trends

Hello, I hope you all are enjoying your week so far! I am but, it’s only Tuesday and I’m already looking forward to the weekend. My “Senioritis” is really setting in and it is becoming harder and harder to focus in school, and don’t even get me started on my procrastination tendencies when it comes to homework. I blame the warmer weather for my slacking off. I need to get back on track this week and power through the rest of the semester. Does anyone have some good motivation tips?

This week I am going to switch my closet over to my spring items and put away my winter boots and jackets (fingers crossed it doesn’t snow…. again). I am also going to make room for some new spring items because there are so many spring trends this season that I have all the heart eyes for. Here are my top 5 favorite trends for this spring.

1. Lavender

If you know me, then you know I love a good pastel and lavender is no exception. It may not be pink but I will definitely by adding some more lavender pieces to my wardrobe, like this velvet lavender skirt I wore to walk around the Hudson Gardens. Sadly nothing is blooming…. yet.

2. Basket bags

Okay, this trend isn’t exactly “new” but it is back this season and I am taking full advantage. The best part about this trend is that materials like straw and rattan are much cheaper than leather, so a straw bag is much easier on the wallet. Just means I can buy more right?

3. Overalls

Personally this is my favorite trend this season. I own three pairs of overalls, a shorts pair, a dress pair, and a regular pair. They are a staple in my closet year round. Not only do overalls make the perfect gardening outfit, but they can also be worn in the fall for activities like apple picking. I wore a pair when I went apple picking last fall, which can be seen here.

4. White shoes

I don’t care if white shoes get dirty easily, they are so elegant and classy. I will just watch where I step.

5. Stripes

You don’t have to be on a boat to wear stripes. Stripes haven’t always been my favorite, but J. Crews’ national stripes day got me really excited about stripes this season. When worn right they flatter in all the right places. Click Here to see how I wore them on national stripes day.
