Apple Picking at Jenkins Farm

My favorite time of year is finally here! Fall has arrived and there is no better way to kick off the season than with a trip to an apple orchard. This was my first time visiting an apple orchard and I sure hope it will not be my last! Although I did grow up with three apple trees in my backyard, so I am no stranger to the apple life. The apple orchard we visited was about an hour and half drive, located in a valley west of Colorado Springs. Jenkins Farm was the name, and it is the cutest little family run farm I ever did see. You could tell the people running it were home grown country and even the kids were helping out. They had dozens of rows of apple trees with every variety you could imagine. They even let you taste test the apples as you were picking and had a huge raspberry patch too! The apples were priced at $1.75 a pound and taste way better then store bought, there’s just something about the way food tastes when you pick it yourself. I ended up with about 11 pounds of apples in all different varieties…. now I just have to figure out what to do with all of them! I highly suggest, if you get the chance this season, to find a small local place to do some apple picking of your own. I know it was on my fall bucket list and it is a great budget friendly activity for kids too. What else is on your fall bucket list? I would love to hear about your fall plans or if you have a great apple recipe too! Happy Picking!

Sincerely,

Cara

Overalls make a perfect apple picking outfit! The ones I am wearing are last year from target, but there are so many cute options out there. I am looking into getting a long pair for chillier days right now, like these Levis Overalls! Theses Shorts Overalls are similar to the ones I am wearing here. My grey Sweater is J. Crew and my boots are last season coach (similar boots here).
